Who is Diane Olive?

My name is Diane Marie Getson Olive. I was born and raised in Ohio and New Jersey and moved to Florida as an adult, where I currently live with a houseful of animals and a patient husband. Though I studied art at college, I learned most of my skills later on through practice, experimentation and observation. My style continues to evolve with whatever captures my attention, but nature and animals are the central focus.

The biggest inspirations of my life are the artists M.C. Escher, Rene Magritte and Georgia O'Keeffe, as well as the music of the Beatles and the silent film comedies of Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin ... to them, I am eternally grateful.

Dorothy Parker's famous quote "What fresh hell is this?" is one of my favorites. I want my art to be a little escape from all the little fresh hells in our lives and a reminder of the beauty that surrounds us.
